Use
Wallets
Add a wallet, fund it, send SOL out of it, show its secret key, and get back the rent its token accounts hold. Everything here happens on your machine.
Add a wallet
Wallets live in your vault, encrypted on your machine. Unlock the vault first with u.
- i imports a wallet you already have: its secret key in base58, as Phantom exports it, or the JSON byte array that
solana-keygenwrites. - n creates a new one.
With more than one wallet, x switches between them; the header shows the one you are trading with and its balance. y copies its address so you can send it SOL.
The wallet menu
Press W (shift + w) for the wallet you are on. In the browser, the wallet button next to the balance opens the same thing.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| s | Send SOL to another address |
| k | Show the secret key, after your passphrase |
| r | Get rent back from empty token accounts |
Send SOL
W then s asks for three things:
- The address. Any Solana address. Check it twice: a transfer cannot be undone.
- The amount in SOL, or
maxfor everything the wallet holds less the network fee. - Confirmation. zeroterm shows the exact amount, the full address, the fee and what stays in the wallet. Type
sendto send it.
A transfer goes to your RPC and any extra RPCs, with the eco speed's priority fee and no tip: it needs no landing service. With the default settings it costs 0.0000105 SOL.
A Solana wallet cannot be left holding less than 0.00089088 SOL unless it is emptied completely, so zeroterm refuses an amount that would leave less than that and points you to max instead.
Show the secret key
W then k asks for your vault passphrase again, even when the vault is already unlocked, so a terminal left open cannot hand the key to someone else. The key is shown in base58, the form Phantom and Solflare import as a private key. c copies it; any other key closes it and clears it from the screen.
Get rent back
Every coin you buy opens a token account in your wallet, and Solana holds a small deposit for it, about 0.0015 SOL. Selling everything leaves the account empty but the deposit stays. W then r finds every empty token account the wallet owns and closes them, a dozen to a transaction, and the deposits come back as SOL. Accounts that still hold tokens are never touched.
For example, after trying four coins and selling all of each, the wallet holds four empty token accounts. Closing them returns about 0.006 SOL.
pump.fun and PumpSwap also open one account per wallet, with a similar deposit, to count your trading volume for the rewards they pay. zeroterm leaves those alone.
Before you delete zeroterm
Your vault (~/.zeroterm/vault.json) is the only place a wallet created with n exists. Before you delete it, send the SOL out with W s, or show the key with W k and import it into another wallet app.
