Troubleshooting

The messages zeroterm shows when something is off, what each one means, and what to do about it.

Starting

"zeroterm needs an interactive terminal." The full-screen terminal needs a real terminal window, not a pipe or a background job. Run it directly in a terminal, or use zeroterm --web.

"web UI not built: run pnpm build" (browser mode) Run pnpm build in the zeroterm folder, then start again.

Lines and boxes look broken. Your terminal is not in UTF-8, or its font lacks box-drawing characters. Any modern terminal with its default font works; check that echo $LANG ends in UTF-8.

Everything is slow, or the pit only shows pump.fun coins. You are on Solana's public RPC. It is rate-limited, and the LaunchLab and Meteora new-coin feed stays off on it. Press r and set your own RPC.

Vault and wallets

"wrong passphrase" The passphrase does not open this vault. It cannot be reset: there is no server that knows it.

"passphrase must be at least 10 characters" Choose a longer one.

"wallet already in vault" That key is already in the vault.

"not a base58 key" / "a secret key is 64 bytes" Import expects the full secret key: base58 as Phantom exports it, or the JSON byte array ([12,34,…], 64 numbers) that solana-keygen writes. A 12- or 24-word recovery phrase is not accepted.

y or c did not copy anything. zeroterm copies through your terminal (an escape sequence called OSC 52). Some terminals ignore it, macOS Terminal among them, and inside tmux it needs set -g set-clipboard on. The address is also shown on screen.

Trading

Pressing b asks for the passphrase. Trading signs with your key, so the vault must be unlocked first; zeroterm asks for it, then press b again. A dry run (d) does not need it.

"No wallet yet: press n for a new one or i to import." The vault is open but holds no wallet. See Your first trade.

"the curve is complete and the pool is not live yet" The coin is graduating from its curve to a pool. Wait a moment and open it again.

"the curve graduated and its new pool was not found" The pool it moved to is not visible yet. Try again shortly, or paste the mint again with /.

"no pool or route found for this coin" Neither a direct venue nor Jupiter has a market for it. It may be too new or have no liquidity.

"That would leave … SOL, below the 0.00089088 SOL a wallet must keep." A Solana wallet must either keep that much or be emptied completely. Send max, or send less.

"That is this wallet's own address." You pasted the address of the wallet you are sending from. Paste the other wallet's address.

"No empty token accounts: there is no rent to get back." Every token account in the wallet still holds tokens. Sell all of a coin first; its account then counts as empty.

"this wallet holds none of this coin" You are selling from a wallet that does not hold it. x switches wallets.

"Jupiter is rate-limiting this machine" Without a key, Jupiter allows one call every two seconds. Wait, or add a free key from portal.jup.ag in Settings.

A setting stops the trade (for example "The tip pays Nozomi, but no Nozomi API key is set.") The trade would be dropped or its tip wasted, so zeroterm does not send it. Press , and fix the row marked ✕. The full list is in Speed and routes.

"blockhash expired before the trade landed" No leader took the trade in time, so it never landed and cost nothing. Try again with a higher speed (t), or set your own RPC.

The trade landed but failed (for example on slippage) The price moved further than your slippage allows before the trade reached a block. A failed trade still pays its network and priority fee, as on any Solana app; the tip and the swap are undone. Raise slippage with ], or trade smaller.

I pressed b and nothing happened. The first press only arms the trade; the order card says "b again to confirm". Press b again within three seconds.
